light11.eu: Lights and lamps in high-quality design
High-quality designer lights not only fulfil an aesthetic function but also provide for good lighting conditions in your home. When planning a room, it is recommended to ensure a balanced illumination that supplies the right light for any kind of activities and situations in the respective room. For this reason, our designer lights are categorised according to three lighting dimensions: ambient lighting, zone lighting and mood lighting. We recommend to take care of an individual composition of the lighting dimension in every room in order to meet the personal requirements.
Ambient lighting should uniformly illuminate the room and ensures the basic and general illumination. It provides for a basic brightness that the human eye requires for navigating within the room. At the same time, significant differences in brightness within the room are balanced out which allows our eyes to easily adapt to the different brightness levels. Ambient lighting may be realised by means of various lights, for instance, with the aid of ceiling lights, wall lights or floor lamps where the light is being directed upwards, the so-called floor uplighters.
Zone lighting is used when a particularly high amount of light is required for carrying out certain activities. Classic examples in this regard are reading or working at the desk. Basic lighting is in most cases not sufficient for such a sophisticated visual task. Zone lighting is realised by lights and lamps with focused light so that a certain area is supplied with a high light intensity. Zone lighting should ideally be adjustable in order to be able adapt the light direction to the respective situation as well as the personal requirements.
Designer lights supplying mood lighting shine but provide little illumination. Their light creates an extraordinary atmosphere within the room and caresses the heart and soul. Mood lighting stands for cosiness and homeliness, for romanticism, passion and fascination. The greatest effect is achieved by mood lights in the evening after the sunset. However, corresponding lights should not be too bright since this might have a negative effect on the relaxing atmosphere. Tip: candles also supply fantastic mood lighting.
