Design

With its three-legged body wound downwards, the Martinelli Luce Cyborg looks like a mysterious creature from the future. At the same time, this unique table lamp has a somewhat organic appearance; the viewer might even feel that it looks like a jellyfish. The US American designer Karim Rashid who is known as the "popstar" of the design world due to his extraordinary creations is responsible for the design of the Cyborg. The Cyborg is manufactured by Martinelli Luce using high-quality materials: the structure is made of aluminium, the diffuser is made of polycarbonate. The Cyborg table lamp is available in light grey, aluminium, light blue and green.

The design of the Cyborg was penned by Karim Rashid who created this luminaire in 2015 for the manufacturer Martinelli Luce.

Cyborg – energy-efficient light thanks to LED operation

The Martinelli Luce Cyborg emits its warm-white light downwards from where it is diffused by the surface on which it is placed. This way, a uniform zone lighting is created. The Cyborg is provided with up-to-date LED lamps by the manufacturer. These only consume 4.5 watts to achieve a light output of 450 lumens. This value corresponds to the output of a 40 W incandescent lamp. The pleasantly warm-white LED light has a colour temperature of 3,000 Kelvin. The touch control system on the light head allows the light to be conventiently switched on and off.
