To enjoy targeted lighting as you dine, a light with a cable suspension is a worthwhile solution.

Alongside this standard solution, you will also find other lights with sophisticated suspensions that raise the bar in decentralised lighting, both functionally and visually. These include, for example, elongated single and multiple canopy systems with sliding pendant lights and ceiling lights with movable, articulated arms. Arc lights and wall lights with long arms are also an attractive alternative.

By the way: our lights with spacer suspensions aren’t just a great solution for the dining room: in the living room, for example, they can provide targeted lighting above a coffee table or over your sofa for reading.

What is a cable suspension light?

Cable suspension lights are decentralised lights whose cables can be plugged into the ceiling flexibly. They consist of a canopy, one or more power cables, the so-called cable suspensions, and the actual body of the lamp. Many pendant lights are also available with one or more spacing suspensions. These are used to attach the cables to the ceiling so that the light heads hang centrally above the table.

What advantages to decentralised lights offer over cable suspension lights?

There are various reasons for opting for alternative decentralised lighting solutions. One is the appearance: lights with a cable suspension always feature cables hanging down. If you don't like this feature, you are better off with a canopy system with sliding pendants or a ceiling or wall light with a long adjustable arm. In general, the choice is greater because you can choose between different designs as well as several types of light. As a decentralised lighting solution, arc lights offer another advantage in terms of flexibility. With these lights, you are completely independent of power outlets in the ceiling or wall.

Which cables are suitable for cable suspensions?

Different cables are used for our cable suspensions. They are often flexible fabric pendants, some of which are very narrow and some of which are broader. It is important to have a sufficient length so that you have enough leeway when fixing the cables to the ceiling to ensure that the light heads do not hang too high. And don’t forget: the cable work in our cable suspension lights isn’t just a practical accessory, but an essential part of the design concept and often functions as a central element.

How do I attach a cable suspension light?

Before mounting your cable suspension light, first switch off the power. Then screw the mounting bracket to the junction box or ceiling, depending on the conditions in your room. Now join the connecting cables with the lustre terminal and then attach the light with the cable suspension to the mounting bracket. Once this has been done, fix the cables in the desired position with the help of the spacer so that your table is optimally illuminated.
