How is smoked glass made?
Smoked glass gets its special coloring during the melting process: the addition of metal oxides colors the clear glass. The result is a transparent, tinted surface. The name "smoked glass" therefore does not refer to the manufacturing process, but to the appearance of the glass. Thanks to the glass tinting, glare is reduced, yet the light source remains visible.
Tip: We recommend that you use an LED filament lamp or a
vintage lamp
for lights with a standard socket, for example E27, which exudes retro charm.
