"Design to shape light"The philosophy of Louis Poulsen
Louis Poulsen - historically influential lighting objects in perfection
In collaboration with the most famous designers of their time, Louis Poulsen has been the first "house of light" for more than 100 years and is a prime example of exclusive lighting in the Scandinavian style. Icons such as Poul Henningsen, Arne Jacobsen and Verner Panton designed true masterpieces for the Danish manufacturer.
In addition to the use of the highest quality materials and a high degree of craftsmanship, the luminaires are characterised above all by their exceptionally good glare control.
Under the motto "Design to shape light", Louis Poulsen's designs mould the light in a unique way, creating a balance between light and dark, modern and classic.
The many iconic luminaires are constantly being joined by new re-editions, some in trendy colours, as well as innovative new products equipped with modern LED technology. This exclusive variety, encompassing all types of luminaires, makes Louis Poulsen one of the most renowned centres for designer lighting in the world.
PH 5 - still a benchmark for light and design today
The PH 5 series by Poul Henningsen, one of the most famous Scandinavian designers of all time, is one of the most internationally recognised luminaires. The characteristic three-shade system gives all the luminaires their unmistakable design language and absolutely glare-free light. The latter is no coincidence: a sophisticated calculation of the incidence of light and a logarithmic construction of the shades make it impossible for the light to escape directly. The result is 100 per cent glare-free light sculptures for dining tables and kitchen counters. Originally designed in plain white, the PH 5 and PH 5 mini are now available in several trendy colours.
Panthella - design icon for glare-free zone lighting
Panthella was created by the famous architect and designer Verner Panton. Known for his visionary designs, the Dane created a true lighting icon in 1971 with Panthella, which is now more sought-after than ever. The lamp is characterised by its organic, playful design with a hemispherical shade and slender, trumpet-shaped base.
Louis Poulsen Panthella emits glare-free light downwards and is therefore ideal as a reading lamp. The table lamp in the family is available in several sizes and colours and can be placed on the bedside table or sideboard. With the floor lamp, on the other hand, you benefit from pleasant reading light next to the sofa or armchair. The Panthella rechargeable lamp, which is also available in various colours, provides particularly flexible lighting. Whether on the coffee table or bedside table, on a chest of drawers or on a shelf: the mobile table lamp provides light wherever you need it - and in dry weather, you can also use it on the patio or balcony.
Skilfully set the scene for your outdoor area with Louis Poulsen outdoor lights and use the light sources to your advantage. Thanks to the intelligent design, the outdoor lights provide downward and glare-free light: extend sociable evenings on the patio or in the garden, emphasise your house façade and illuminate entrance areas and paths.
The Danish lighting manufacturer has rechargeable, wall and bollard lights that you can use for specific purposes. A wall light at your entrance area not only illuminates the architecture of your house, but also provides practical light to help you find your keys in your pocket, for example. A bollard light on the stairs reduces the risk of falling. For paths and driveways, outdoor luminaires provide improved orientation and increase safety. Use indirect and direct light and give your garden or patio an inviting atmosphere that you can enjoy even after the sun has set.
