Ingo Maurer Campari Light

Charming illumination by means of a cult beverage

The Campari Light luminaires by Ingo Maurer are an impressive proof for how surprising the shape of a light fixture can be if you let the power of inspiration guide your way.

The "basic material" used for these lights are original Campari soda bottles. These quickly attained worldwide fame after Fortunato Depero introduced them to the public in 1932. Some decades later, Raffaele Celentano and Ingo Maurer had the idea to create the Campari Light pendant light using these famous bottles– including the contents. This light has a "lampshade" made from several Campari bottles that almost completely enclose the illuminant. This way, this special arrangement not only guarantees amazed looks including an aha moment but also a charismatic lighting effect.

When switching on the Ingo Maurer Campari most of the light is directed downwards. On the way downwards, the light becomes slightly reddish and thus provides for a special kind of illumination – which is "super cool" according to a customer rating in our shop. At the same time, the bottles virtually shine from the inside additionally increasing the visual appeal of the Campari Light. A further ingenious special feature is the crown cap that was turned into a pull cable bracket. By means of this crown cap the height of the pendant light can be modified. Thus, it is always possible to adjust the diameter of the light cone to suit your personal requirements. Speaking of requirements: if somebody is thirsty, he or she might simply take off one or several bottles and might later replace these ones by new bottles.

Campari Light by Ingo Maurer: luminaires for a pleasant atmosphere

The Ingo Maurer lights are suitable for various application areas. The Campari Light 155 and the Campari Light 400 pendant lights – the digits indicate the cable length – are, for instance, often used to provide zone lighting above the dining table. They suffuse the table including the food and drinks with a wonderful atmospheric light and turn the dining area into a welcoming feel-good zone. If you install multiple Ingo Maurer Campari pendant lights in a row, a fascinatingly emotional lighting is also created above a long dining table. Additionally, these original light sources emit a casual and playful aura that is transferred to the entire room – ideally suited for a party room, where the Campari cuts a fine figure as lighting and decoration object above the bar.

Another beautiful solution for the bar is the Campari Bar that was introduces to the market in 2013. This table lamp is able to create a cosy light oasis practically everywhere. Thus, the Ingo Maurer Campari Bar also comes into its own on a coffee table in the living room. The base, which is a part of the Alessi Colombina collection and included in the scope of supply, might serve as a serving tray for snacks or other goodies. The icing on the cake, however, are the “ice cubes” made from glass which just like the Campari bottles shine in a beautiful way. The tastefully extravagant appearance of the Campari Bar is rounded off by the crown cap that serves as a pull cable. Now you just have to purchase some small bowls since the ones shown in the pictures are unfortunately not included in the scope of supply.

Halogen lamps are used for the Ingo Maurer Campari lights. These ensure warm-white light with an excellent colour rendering.
