What do Philippe Starck, Jasper Morrison, Patricia Urquiola, Antonio Citterio and Achille Castiglioni have in common? That is quite simple: this year, the traditional brand Flos offers designs by all five star designers. These impressively combine tasteful, timeless design and innovative lighting technology. The Italian light manufacturer, for instance, presents battery-operated lights, lights with an adjustable light colour and up to now unknown designs from the heritage of Castiglioni. For this reason, the new Flos products 2016 already now have what it takes to become an absolute classic.

New Flos products 2016 – creative ideas by Philippe Starck
This year, the star designer Philippe Starck presents two elegant table lamps. One of them is the elegant Bon Jour, a table lamp with an integrated dimmer and modern LED technology, and the other is the Bon Jour Unplugged, a portable battery-operated light that offers up to six hours of lighting once it has been charged. Moreover, the shades of both light fixtures are available in six different versions and may be selected as desired. This means that you can individually put together your desired light. But this is not all: the practical Bon Jour Unplugged is supplied including a charging cable with a Micro USB connector which is intended for charging the Flos light.

New Flos products 2016 – update for the Kelvin by Antonio Citterio
Antonio Citterio introduces an update for the desk lamp classic Flos Kelvin LED. The Kelvin Edge is equipped with modern LED technology which allows the light colour of this table lamp to be adjusted as required in a range between 2,700 and 3,200 K. This means that it offers even more comfort while working and reading. Furthermore, the Kelvin Edge is available in three further versions with a clamp, a table pivot and a wall bracket, which are suitable for desks that offer rather little space.

Supernormal design by Jasper Morrison
A further highlight from the new Flos products 2016 is the charming design of the Superloon by Jasper Morrison. The British designer is well known for his plain creations that convince alone through their functionality. This also applies to this floor lamp. The Superloon reminds us of a noble standing mirror that supplies light instead of reflecting it. Responsible for this is an efficient LED band that is concealed in the aluminium frame around the plastic diffuser. As soon as the light is switched on, the shade is illuminated and softly diffused light is emitted. However, not only the lighting direction may be adjusted as required but also the brightness and the light colour. This means that the Superloon offers a suitable illumination for any occasion.

Floral design by Patricia Urquiola
By means of the Serena T, Patricia Urquiola also contributes a fabulous design to the new Flos products 2016. The Spanish designer was inspired by nature when creating this fine table lamp. The reflector connected to a black base made of extruded aluminium is shaped like a palm leaf. This shade can be adjusted in such a way that the light emitted by the Serena T is directly pointed towards the ceiling or the wall. However, the table lamp from Flos also convinces as an amazing eye-catcher even while the light is switched off. Moreover, the leaf-shaped reflector is available with different surface finishes: brightly polished, coated in black or provided with a copper coating.

New Flos products 2016 – a discovery from the archive of Achille Castiglioni
During a research through the archive of Achille Castiglioni, the employees at Flos discovered an interesting design by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni. Originally, the two designers wanted to create their table lamp classic Taccia using a shade made of plastic material. However, this was not possible due to great heat generation of classic illuminants. Today, this idea could be realised, thanks to modern LED technology. For this reason, Flos now presents the Taccia LED PMMA. Furthermore, they add a nestling to the light family – the small Taccia small LED. It is only a little smaller than the original Taccia but it is offered with a high-quality, hand-blown glass shade.
