"We are interested in things that are durable and outlast trends. I think there's a certain beauty in how objects age and wear over time."Niels Strøyer Christophersen, founder of Frama
Frama – purist luminaires with an industrial flair
The Danish design studio Frama was founded by Niels Strøyer Christophersen and offers an extensive range around a feel-good ambience at home. This includes furniture, household goods, drugstore items and, of course, lighting. The company's headquarters, including atelier and store, is located in Copenhagen. +The Scandinavian brand masters the fine art of reduction to perfection. The minimalist lamps are often characterized by graphic shapes and simple geometries. An example of the radically reduced, almost raw design are the Frama lamps in bulb form.
When it comes to materials, metallic raw materials predominate. Frama prefers to use solid metals such as copper and brass. In combination with the simple shapes, the result is a charming industrial design that spreads a little factory flair in your four walls. Durability plays a big role in the designs and production. Instead of following fast-moving trends, the premium brand focuses on long-lasting, timeless products.
The collection of lamps Eiffel shows what simple, authentic design means. The body of the lamp is a slender metal tube, which is connected to a wall bracket or hangs on thin pendants. Small lateral bars hold one or, in the case of the wall lamp, two fluorescent tubes. Due to the illuminants, which you choose yourself, the light is distributed harmoniously in all directions and provides a pleasant soft lighting. Small but nice detail: a brass end piece acts as a rotary dimmer.
The metal construction is made of waxed and blued raw steel, which develops a natural patina over time. This emphasizes the charming industrial character of the Eiffel. The wall lamp can be mounted independently of a wall outlet thanks to a plug and offers diffuse, partly indirect room light in the living room or bedroom as well as in the hallway. With the pendant luminaire, on the other hand, you set the scene for elongated dining tables or kitchen counters.
