Naturally elegant and simplistic in design: Foscarini Twiggy
The series Foscarini Twiggy
brings exhilarating elegance into the world of lamps. The reserved design underlines the filigree luminaire arm with its unfussy shaping and clear colours.
All lights from the series Twiggy by Foscarini
are characterized by an elegant, reduced design. Both the charmingly curved light arm as well as the upright version stands symbolically for aesthetic minimalism. Some Foscarini Twiggy
variants additionally emphasise the clear structure with a uniform colouring. In this regard, particularly the Foscarini Twiggy Terra with its clear base colours has a no-compromise approach, decently underlining the almost vibrating overall picture. The sweeping curve of the Twiggy arc light is the most striking element about the Foscarini Twiggy series.
The slim silhouette is also the distinctive mark of the Foscarini Twiggy Soffitto
. The ceiling light
is made from high quality fibre glass and proves to be amazingly flexible: Thanks to the possibility of decentralised assembly, the Twiggy Soffitto ceiling lamp, turnable by 330 degrees, doesn’t depend on a power outlet which is located directly over the area to be illuminated.
Despite its stately size of 2.15 metres, the Twiggy Terra floor lamp
stands for flexible illumination in a filigree design as well. Due to the combination of round base and arched lamp arm, a both optical and static balance is achieved. Set up in the living room behind a couch, this floor lamp
provides convenient zone lighting and acts as a conspicuous element of decoration at the same time. The Foscarini floor lamp enjoys also great popularity when it comes to the stylish lighting of a table in the dining room, where it considerably contributes to a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. Besides/behind an armchair the Twiggy Terra proves useful as a reading lamp.
Even without the sweeping arm the Twiggy Sospensione pendant light leaves a lasting impression. Thanks to its puristic and sublime appearance, it spreads a hint of reserved noblesse, for example in a dining room, where the pendant light
transforms the table into an impressive island of light and supplies at the same time upward light that is reflected from the ceiling back into the space. The Foscarini Sospensione grande with a 46 cm-lamp shade delights larger rooms, whereas the Foscarini Sospensione piccola tends to be applied in smaller spaces.
The Foscarini Twiggy Tavolo is available as a version with a linear light arm and one with a curved one. The Twiggy Tavolo XL table lamp
features a straight style, emphasized by a shade with a classic look. Placed on a desk in a work room or on a sideboard or cabinet in a living or bedroom, it delights the eye with its positive, exclusive aura. With its elegantly bent neck, the Foscarini Twiggy presents itself somewhat easy and playful. This table lamp
appeals with its decent appearance and compact size, realizing various fields of application.
Perfection in style can be attributed to the Foscarini Twiggy Lettura
as well. Appearing gentle and natural, the light dispenser skilfully spreads zone lighting in the range of an armchair or a sofa. An integrated dimmer gives you the opportunity to individually regulate the lighting intensity and to transform the illumination into atmospheric mood lighting. On the one hand, the Twiggy Lettura floor lamp works well as an attractive eye catcher. On the other hand it lives up to its name “Lettura” by acting as a reading light.
Each Twiggy fixture from the Foscarini Twiggy
series is made from composite material based on lacquered fiberglass. All lighting sources emit anti-glare, pleasant light, which is also directed upwards via the transparent end. The desk version Twiggy Tavolo offers a generous cable length of two meters. Two-oart extensions for the lamp arm are separately available.
Additional information on the designer: The Foscarini Twiggy series is a brainchild of Marc Sadler, who once said: “I like to experiment with different techniques and technologies to use in unusual applications, trying to obtain new and possibly pleasing effects.” Born in Innsbruck, Austria, and now living in Milan, Italy, Marc Sadler’s career began with a passion for technology and experimentation with new materials. One of his projects (a ski-boot in thermoplastic material) inspired him to work in the sports sector and, in 1971, he began collaboration with Caber, for which he later patented the symmetrical shell design which was to remain the most successful ski-boot of its kind for several years. First designing the Drop lamp for Flos, Sadler now has an ongoing creative relationship with Italian lighting company Foscarini
. This partnership resulted in the birth of Twiggy in 2006.
