Flos - historically influential design

Since its foundation in 1962, Flos has been characterised by its close collaboration with renowned designers. Names such as Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, Philippe Starck and Jasper Morrison symbolise the development and rise of the Italian manufacturer. Over the decades, masterpieces such as the Arco arc lamp and the Glo-Ball product family have been created.

The name "Flos", which means "flower" in Latin, reflects the company's flourishing creativity. Flos always has its finger on the pulse of the times, creating new products that excel in design and technology. Examples of this include floating cables for pendant lights, innovative battery-powered lights and creative shapes made of mouth-blown glass.

As part of a large design holding, the still family-run company breaks new ground and rarely sets limits in terms of creativity. In addition to interior luminaires, the Flos range now also includes a diverse selection of decorative project and outdoor luminaires. Flos has also made it a priority to produce sustainably and without adhesives. This also includes the classics, which are also converted.

Flos Aim Small Sospensione LED 3 lamps Application picture

The Flos Aim is one of the most fascinating pendant lights in recent design history. Thanks to its decentralised suspension with a total length of 900 cm, it gives you maximum design freedom. This is because the cables can be flexibly attached to the ceiling using fixing points. This allows you to determine the position of the luminaire heads individually, which is particularly advantageous if your ceiling outlet is not centred above the dining table or kitchen counter.

The extraordinary LED pendant light by the Bouroullec brothers is available in single or multi-lamp versions. The spotlight-like luminaire heads can be individually aligned. They provide either direct zone lighting for the dining or coffee table or offer pleasant indirect lighting when directed towards the wall or ceiling.

IC Lights - the rebirth of the glass sphere

Inspired by a street juggler in Paris, designer Michael Anastassiades created the successful IC Lights model in 2014. The centrepiece of this product family is the almost floating, hand-blown glass sphere, which is attached to a filigree frame made of solid steel.

Whether as a ceiling, wall, pendant, table or floor lamp: IC Lights spreads diffuse and atmospheric ambient light in the living room, bedroom and even outdoors. The consistently clear design language lends the luminaire an unmistakable lightness, allowing it to be effortlessly integrated into any home. In addition to two sizes, Flos IC Lights is also available in various colours.

Achille Castiglioni first presented the cult object Arco in 1962, and just ten years later it was included in the permanent exhibition at the MoMA in New York. The solid base made of high-quality Carrara marble, weighing 60kg, radiates timeless elegance and fascinates design enthusiasts today just as much as it did back then. The Arco marks a milestone as the world's first arched luminaire and makes it possible to illuminate dining tables decentrally even without a ceiling outlet.

The Italian company Flos is a member of a large design holding and attaches great importance to close collaboration with experienced and well-known designers. Among the most important names that have contributed significantly to the development and success of the manufactory are Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, Philippe Starck and Jasper Morrison.
