Design

The Flos Taccia small LED transforms the timeless design by Pier Giacomo and Achille Castiglioni from 1962 into a more handy format. However, the iconic shape of the table lamp was not changed during this process. The Taccia small LED still impresses the viewer with its parabolic, hand-blown glass shade that is covered by a concave reflector at the top. The shade of the table lamp from Flos rests on a cylindrical base that is ribbed and therefore looks like a Doric column. Moreover, the small Taccia is offered in four modern colours: purple, aluminium, black and bronze.

Designer

Achille Castiglioni and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni designed the Taccia small LED in 2016 for the manufacturer Flos.

Taccia small LED table lamps: adjustable and glare-free lighting

The Flos Taccia small LED is fitted with an extremely efficient LED module that is concealed in the base. From here, it emits its light directly upwards where it is reflected by the concave reflector and diffused downwards and to the sides. This way, the table lamp produces a glare-free and pleasant basic lighting that can be easily converted into mood lighting by means of a dimmer on the supply line. Furthermore, the shade can be slightly inclined on the base. Typically for modern LED technology, the Taccia small LED also stands out for its exemplary energy efficiency. With a power of 16 watts the table lamp from Flos achieves an impressive luminous flux of 1,290 lumens. This almost corresponds to the light output of a classic 150 W incandescent lamp. This means that the Taccia is extremely eco-friendly and cost-saving.

The Flos Taccia small LED is ideally suited to serve as a tasteful eye-catcher on a side table or a coffee table in the living room. Here, the table lamp provides for pleasant reading light that is glare-free due to the sophisticated design of the reflector. Thanks to the dimmer, the Taccia small LED may also quickly be turned into an atmospheric mood light that supplies its environment with warm-white light. However, the table lamp from the Italian light manufacturer Flos also impresses with its fine design and its welcoming lighting effect when it is placed on a bedside table in the bedroom.
