dimmable illuminant and external dimmerFor dimming a luminaire, you only require a dimmable illuminant and a customary external phase dimmer. Please make sure that the dimmer output power (watts) suits the illuminant’s output power. For LED illuminants, you usually need a phase dimmer with low load (max. 50/100 watts) and an On/Off function. Button lights: minimalist design with that special something

Design
The Button from Flos virtually looks like a button on the ceiling or the wall. In the middle of the diffuser made of opalised polycarbonate this ceiling light is provided with an intelligent locking system in the form of a high-gloss screw top consisting of an aluminium alloy that is manufactured within the framework of a die casting process. This means that the illuminant can be easily exchanged and the body can also be easily cleaned. For better durability, the screw top of the Flos Button is coated with a transparent, weather-resistant protective varnish. Altogether, this ceiling lamp has a diameter of about 40 cm. Thanks to its plain and elegant design, the Button light is an enrichment to any interior design concept. This ceiling light was penned by the Italian furniture designer Piero Lissoni who created this light for Flos in 2004.

Characteristic shape
The Button owes its name to the characteristic shape with the chrome-plated rotary knob in the middle.
Polycarbonate or opal glass
Depending on the version, the flat diffuser of the Button ceiling light is made of opal polycarbonate or opal glass.
Owing to the special diffuser material, the Flos Button provides for pleasant, diffuse ambient lighting in small and large rooms. The ceiling lamp version with a blue mounting bracket additionally produces an appealing colourful shimmer on the wall. The Button from Flos is operated using energy-saving lamps. Two energy-saving lamps with a 2GX13 base together produce a luminous flux of 5,000 lumens and they only require 62 watts for this purpose. This means that the ceiling light offers the same light intensity as a 300 W halogen rod. Thus, you save a lot of energy and simultaneously ensure a comprehensive illumination.
Beautiful light that now illuminates our bathroom. At first, I was a little irritated by the fact that there were two illuminants, however, they provide for an amazing light. My initial concerns with regard to the brightness turned out to groundless; the illuminants only need some time to achieve the full intensity. I would always buy this light again!Beautiful light that now illuminates our bathroom. Ceiling lights for wet and outdoor areas
The Button from Flos is ideally suited for use in the kitchen, the hallway or the staircase. Here, it creates a comprehensive and diffuse lighting without consuming too much energy. However, it also cuts a great figure in a bathroom as it is designed in accordance with protection type IP44. Thus, it is protected against fine foreign bodies and splashing water. This means that there is no reason why the Flos Button should not be installed close to a washbasin or in outdoor areas. Thanks to efficient and environment-friendly illuminants, the ceiling lamp also facilitates a cost-efficient permanent illumination in dark corners or house driveways.
