Design

Distinctive design object and magic light rolled into one – this is the Artemide Pirce Sospensione LED pendant light. It is hard to believe that this Artemide light was made using a single high-quality aluminium disc. The modern LED version of the award-winning Pirce Sospensione is ingeniously cut by means of a laser so that the softly curved rings are created. On the lower end of the Artemide Pirce Sospensione pendant light a bowl-shaped element is located that houses the light source.

In 2008, Giuseppe Maurizio Scutellà designed the predecessor "Pirce" pendant light for Artemide which was honoured with the iF Product Design Award, the Good Design Award of the Chicago Athenaeum and the Red Dot Design Award.

Pirce Sospensione LED – glare-free ambient lighting

The LEDs located in the bowl element of this pendant light emit their warm-white light towards the ceiling. On their way to the top, the LED light beams let the rings shine brightly and a part of the light is reflected into the room. The Artemide Pirce Sospensione directs the major part of the light to the ceiling from where it is uniformly reflected into the room without producing any glare. The LED lamps require a power input of 44 watts to produce a luminous flux of 3,344 lumens. For comparison: a 200 W incandescent lamp achieves a luminous flux of 3,150 lumens.
